why?
It’s surprising that even though german baptists have all the time in the world to read, no one ever reads the bible. that’s one of my problems with the church. people think that just because they have the uniform and are baptized, they’re saved. most of them don’t even think about the dying to self part. they aren’t real in their faith.

I see that a lot as I am also a GB, and I see it alot in even some of my friends who are baptized in the Church. It seems that they got baptized to “seal” their soul, but then they do whatever they want to do. This is also a problem in other christians were people say to say the prayer and you will be saved. It is much deeper than that and you have to have the personal relationship with God. Even though Christ will forgive you no matter what you do, you should not use that as an excuse to do whatever you want to do.

That’s a bit of a sweeping judgement on GBs isn’t it? Especially since some of us might not fit your criteria?

i’m not sure how thats a judgement as much as an observation of some of the people i have been associated with. im not saying that every gb is fake and not truly saved. i do believe that there are some that really believe in what christ did for them and have accepted him as their personal savior, but i can see the evidence of those who are using their baptism as a spiritual safetly line.
i dont have a criteria…i have a sorrow for people who live like that.

I agree… 1st, once-removed cousin!
However, I just encourage you to make good on your word. Be real in the faith of the Lord Jesus and read your bible! Know what I mean? – Trent
